Open the Octopus EV calculatorEV salary-sacrifice FAQs
Does my employer need to offer the scheme?
Yes. The vehicle is provided through a salary-sacrifice agreement with your employer. If your employer has not joined, they can submit an employer enquiry.
Do I need to be an Octopus Energy customer?
No. Octopus EV states that employees do not need to receive their home energy from Octopus, although some charging benefits and tariffs have their own conditions.
Is insurance included?
Comprehensive insurance is included as standard on the employee proposition, subject to eligibility criteria, employer choices and exclusions.
Can salary sacrifice affect other benefits?
Potentially. Because gross salary is reduced, employees should check the effect on pension contributions, mortgage applications, statutory pay and other salary-related benefits before signing.
What happens if I leave my job?
Early-termination protection may apply in specified circumstances, but availability is at the employer’s discretion and is subject to the scheme agreement.
